BTW, I've unpinned I Voted and Running Mate Discussion.  I'm thinking I'll unpin the remaining two election threads tomorrow.

My mom just got home and told me that she finally decided, at the very last minute, to vote for McCain... because every person she has ever voted for has lost the election.  :perfect:

Tomorrow I'll sober up and we can get down to the "Where Do We Go From Here?" topic, but tonight I'm going to exalt in this victory.  This is one of the proudest moments for this country I've ever had.

President Barack Hussein Obama of the United States of America.

...heh.  That's going to take some getting used to.

Best moment of the night?  Seeing Jesse Jackson cry.  Now there is the face of a man whose entire life work is bearing fruit right before his eyes.

Second best moment of the night?  Well I'm not sure when it happened.  I'd like to go back and try and pinpoint at one point during that speech it dawned on Obama himself, "Wait a minute... I'm not a senator giving a speech anymore.  I'm the President!  I am the President!  And I know exactly what I'm doing!"

Odd thought, considering Jackson wants to cut Obama's the President-Elect's nuts off.

Holy shit, I found Jesse Jackson to be one of the single most powerful images of the night.

Those are the same kids who are going to get their asses kicked for not supporting whoever happens to be the President.

It hasn't sunk in to some people that in two months, Senator President-Elect Barack Obama will be Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama.  Better start kissing his black ass now.

Think about this for a moment.  As of right now, it looks like Obama is going to have 367 Electoral votes.  That's amazing.  And, if he manages to take Missouri (looks doubtful at this point), he'll have 378.  That's just absurd!

And it looks like the Dems may pick up 58 seats in the Senate.  America is looking at a new age.
