Do you think I would have made this reference if there were any chance you would have understood it?

Yeah, so, reading up on it, this whole ACORN voter registration fraud thing is either:

A) A painfully obvious ploy by Barack Obama to steal the election by stuffing the ballot boxes with the names of Dallas Cowboys.

or

B) A Republican ploy to create a false scandal that would disenfranchise 1.3 million poor voters, ruin the reputation of a non-profit organization, and essentially bring about another recount debacle that would steal the election away from the Democratic winner.

Considering that Voter Registration Fraud is not the same as Voter Fraud, and would have no real impact on the election whatsoever, I'm leaning towards 'B'.

Brokaw on Meet the Press:

Quote
There are some people in the Obama campaign who believe that there's a concerted effort under way to get Osama bin Laden before Election Day and bring him out of captivity, dead or alive, in some fashion.  But...

It WOULD explain the Administration's sudden interest in attacking Pakistan.  Of course, there's that "but"; Brokaw doesn't finish his sentence, but I think John Harwood says what he was going to:

Quote
I think the Kerry campaign thought they were going to do that four years ago.

Catching bin Laden would be a neat trick if they could pull it off, and would play right into McCain claiming last week that he knew how to catch him, but seriously, the Tora Bora fuckup notwithstanding, if it were that simple to grab bin Laden right before an election, it would have happened in '04 or '06.

Please tell me the American Public isn't so retarded as to think that if they catch Bin Laden between now and November, that suddenly means McCain is president material.

Well, I, for one, am willing to accept that if such a thing happens then we are clearly living in cartoon-land, and I can finally move in with the fucking Thundercats and have a long, intimate, loving relationship with Cheetara. Or Snarf. Whatever. I'm easy at that point.

God, please just have my retarded cat babies.

Sorry, Sharkey, but your avatar says it all: You'll be put in charge of an underwater research lab crewed by all of us and deal with our wacky, idiotic escapades on a daily basis.

Of COURSE it's a Cartoonland plan.  Just like everything ELSE about Bush's foreign policy.

I'm saying I don't see how it'll work, but I would not be at all surprised if that's what they're trying to do.

It's so transparently political that I can't imagine it actually working.  I mean, if they do it, it implies that they have let him be free for quite a long time, and waited until the time of greatest political advantage.

And I would bet everything on someone going on Fox News and saying they "can't be sure" that they can hold on to Osama if McCain is not elected.

Now see, I would totally invert what you just said.  I find it TOTALLY plausible that enough people would fall for it to swing the election, but the "He'll get away if Obama is elected" hypothetical is a little too much for me to believe would happen.

It's all moot anyway.  Like I said, if they could have nabbed him right before an election, it would have happened by now.

Obama campaign buys ad space in Burnout Paradise.

How odd. I always thought that the SimCity games leaned left.

Yeah, but...isn't McCain a raving socialist by your standards too?
