Well, MODO (Magic Online) is a money pit and is literally only a digital version of the physical card game. We don't need a vidja game for that - we can just pick up our decks and play.

What the heck game is this she's playing now, that is an MMO that involves no realtime activity?

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

These are both MMOs and turn based. I know nothing about them personally, but I have heard that they are not bad. One of them is based on Wakfu, so I don't know if that matters. That's all I got.

I assume by Wizard 101 he means Wizard 101.  I can see where it might just be a little nauseating.

The question of "Where can you find an adult version of that?" is a stumper though.  Partially because I don't want to spend enough time with Wizard 101 to find out how it actually plays.

Yeah. The combat interface seems pretty conventional in terms of a non-MMO rpg with a deck-based combat system. Nothing any of us haven't seen before. And yeah, it's basically an MMO for kids. It's a bland as fuck and terribly bowdlerized Harry Potter knockoff (and even she agrees there). But it does feature turn-based team combat and it is a conventional (if terribly boring) MMO in most other regards. Interaction outside of combat (including all minigames that I've seen) is real-time.

Actually it bowls me over that there's no MMO (that I know of) with say, a FFTactics-based combat system.

Well, put it this way, I had to test the multiplayer for actual FF Tactics.

If I ever have to do that again I may gouge somebody's eyes out and glue them to the front of my sockets.

Well it's lucky that I'm not looking for that in particular then.

I googled "turn based mmo".

Try Atlantica Online?  It looks like a more steampunk/fantasy/generic kind of typical gameworld with a turn based combat system.  It's free to play.  I don't know if it's dogshit or not, but it's worth trying to see if it fits the bill I guess.

It's not exactly turn-based, but Puzzle Pirates is still around. It's puzzles (natch), some multi-player, some not, though those that are not are cooperative to some degree, in that your performance at the cannon loading puzzle or the sailing puzzle affects the overall performance of the ship you're on. It was pretty rad when we were all on it way back when, but I haven't touched it since that era so I don't know much about the state of it nowadays.

I clicked the link to see what's newish in the game; apparently you can play from your browser now. So I logged in to see if that worked and everything is still there: the crew, the ships, the flag, the pirates. Way to go, Three Rings.
