No interviews or statements for Palin until she goes to remedial VP camp.

Seriously?  SERIOUSLY?  People can't honestly look at all this shit and actually BUY it, can they?

"[M]y friend Boyd, who also likes to let me know important plot points of movies I haven’t yet seen, informed me that McCain was even with Obama in polls, and that some even showed him slightly ahead. It beggared my imagination that anybody other than his immediate family or the mentally retarded would vote for George Bush in 2004; that anyone would vote Republican now, after the last eight years, leaves me, for once, so boggled as to find myself without comment. The stupidity of the American voter is without limit; it is like perpetual motion, like faster-than-light drive, freakish, impossible, an affront to the laws of nature. Half the people in this country apparently feel they haven’t been fucked over quite enough yet. They are still optimistic that things could be worse." -- Tim Kreider, http://www.thepaincomics.com/

Article in LA Progressive about Palin's black-hatin' ways.

Bear in mind, though, the above re: American voters, lest you start becoming hopeful.

Hearsay.  I'm with Oliver:

Quote
The story rings false to me, and is just the sort of thing like the phony “whitey” video tape story that Larry Johnson was peddling that would be whipped up by a Republican activist like Roger Stone. There’s more than enough verified stuff out there about Sarah Palin’s record, lack of a record, misconduct and extreme views that you don’t need to go into an unverified story of a dubious nature.

WSJ weighs what I thought was the high point of Palin's speech, her pledge that parents of children with disabilities would have a friend in the White House -- and points out that it doesn't exactly jibe with her pitch as a fiscal conservative.  Public school special needs programs need more money, and McCain was up there the other night talking about charter schools.

I'd like to trust her on that one, but really, when it comes to which party is better for public school funding, that's kind of a no-brainer.

WSJ -- hardly a liberal paper -- fact-checks latest McCain campaign assertions about Palin.

Quote
Sen. Obama's campaign released an advertisement pointing out her original support of the bridge. [...]

The McCain campaign jumped back with spokesman Brian Rogers calling the attacks "hysterical."

"The only people 'lying' about spending are the Obama campaign. The only explanation for their hysterical attacks is that they're afraid that when John McCain and Sarah Palin are in the White House, Barack Obama's nearly $1 billion in earmark spending will stop dead in its tracks," Mr. Rogers said.

At a rally today, Sen. McCain again asserted that Sen. Obama has requested nearly a billion in earmarks. In fact, the Illinois senator requested $311 million last year, according to the Associated Press, and none this year. In comparison, Gov. Palin has requested $750 million in her two years as governor -- which the AP says is the largest per-capita request in the nation.

Meanwhile, over at the WaPo, it turns out the candidate who is such a crusader against government pork has been ripping off the taxpayers by dipping into her travel fund even when not actually traveling.  I can only assume John McCain will not be granting the Post any interviews.

Well, it isn't everyday I get interviewed by CBS. 'Cause I'm off being a badass in movies.

Oh my, this just got more interesting.

Because we really need to return to 1962.

I coudn't find a clip of just the moment, but try to imagine a video of just 2:00 to 2:15 looping forever.

I... is it me that doesn't know what the hell a cold war actually is, or her?  I mean you can probably guess what I'm thinking, but I like to keep an open mind about my own ignorance.

Palin hates rape victims, i guess.

Not that any of this -- anything in this whole thread -- will be reported on. but it's good to keep getting angrier with no hope of recourse. (?)

You know when you get the Ice Beam in Metroid? Well imagine that a sentient virus copies you and you guys, like, duke it out.

That's what a cold war is.

If that woman gets shot, I will be cheering at the top of my lungs.  That is all that I have to say about that.

I'm as jaded a guy as you're likely to find on the subject of the MSM ignoring important stories, but even I have to admit they've been pretty thorough about Palin's negatives.  Granted, they've spent a good chunk of this week saying stupid shit about Obama's use of a common figure of speech (to the point that fucking :blahblahblah: has become a voice of reason on the subject), but I wouldn't be surprised if this got some mainstream ink.

I'm waiting for her to say something incredibly stupid. Mccain's camp was trying to avoid this by keeping her away from the media until the media actually, gasp, noticed. They have got to be keeping her on a pretty tight leash; An ultra-conservative, ultra right-wing religio-facist who is confirmed as a secessionist is basically a walking gaffe factory. We were worried about Biden, but Biden is the type of guy who has ted kennedy style blowups ; the kind of thing that isn't going to offend the sensibilities of the voting bloc that actually matters this election, that being the working class. Palin on the other hand... It's only going to take one off the cuff remark about "the blacks" or "the jews" to sink the candidacy. Or, she'll lose it and evangelize about abortion or the rapture or something - on stage - and while that would certainly grab the religious vote, for the most part, the republicans already had that.

Worst case scenario, she makes it to election day without having a gaffe, or alternatively, she has an anti-gaffe by getting destroyed by biden so hardcore in the vice presidential debate that people label obama/biden the sexist ticket and people actually start listening.

I'm waiting for her to say something human. Palin on the other hand... It's only going to take one off the cuff remark about "the blacks" or "the jews" (because I also assume she's racist) to sink the candidacy. Or, she'll lose it and evangelize about abortion or the rapture or something (because she lacks self-control and poise) - on stage - and while that would certainly grab the religious vote, for the most part, the republicans already had that.

Worst case scenario, she makes it to election day without having a gaffe (though I fully expect her to have at least a dozen), or alternatively, she has an anti-gaffe by getting destroyed by biden so hardcore in the vice presidential debate that people label obama/biden the sexist ticket and people actually start listening, and if there's one thing I hate it's when people pay attention to politics.

See if you can spot the differences.
