from what i hear, it wasn't so much "HACKED" as she had a really really really dumb "I FORGOT MY PASSWORD QUESTION"

Yeah, not only have the media been misusing the term "hack" for twenty years, now they're even misusing THEIR definition of it.

Basically, "hacker" is now defined as "anyone smarter than the speaker".

I was at the afternoon maintenance meeting, and in maintenance control, they have a TV with the news running on it, and Fox News was reporting about this.  Didn't catch any audio, because the sound was turned down, but yeah.

As far as I know, yes.

Bill O'Reilly is a caricature of himself.

And once again they fuck up the terminology.  It's "Internet Hate Machine".

In the same way that Bill O'Reilly doesn't.

Hey, you know what would make for a rather interesting news story?  If a major presidential candidate had a whack job preacher.  It'd suck if he espoused ideas about racial inequality and injustice in America.  Why can't he be a more rational preacher, like one who declares a fortune teller to be a witch and attempts to drive her out of town?  Simpler times, really.

Quote
The pastor whose prayer Sarah Palin says helped her to become governor of Alaska founded his ministry with a witchhunt against a Kenyan woman who he accused of causing car accidents through demonic spells.

Quote
According to the Christian Science Monitor, six months of fervent prayer and research identified the source of the witchcraft as a local woman called Mama Jane, who ran a “divination” centre called the Emmanuel Clinic.

Her alleged involvement in fortune-telling and the fact that she lived near the site of a number of fatal car accidents led Pastor Muthee to publicly declare her a witch responsible for the town’s ills, and order her to offer her up her soul for salvation or leave Kiambu.

That's... amazing.

No, really, just about every little distorted fact, every half-truth or outright lie about Obama, and they all turn out to be completely true... except they're about Palin.

Damn, dude.

I'm not entirely sure this is a big deal.  I hate to be offensive to Alaskans since I know some pretty sweet ones, but even they'll tell you that it's nearly impossible up there not to end up associating with someone who's been driven completely nuts by the state.  It's not very fair to focus on the SPACE MADNESS of everyone around her and not the question of whether or not it's gotten her.

It has, by the way.  Big time.

I keep waiting for her to snap on air and launch into a profanity-laced screaming match at whoever's closest.

Hopefully Bill O Rilley Riley (Fuck you, Spellchecker.) is involved.

Because who doesn't want to see Sarah Palin outcrazy him on national TV.
