Yo, JOE! Cast Photos Leaked.

Normally, I'd be the first jerkoffosaurus to approve of a commando unit slinking into tight fitting black rubber, but... JOE wasn't much with the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and now turns out to be even more forgettable once everyone is fashioned out to be a Crysis bot.

Love the Battle Scarred Action(!) on their 'Duke'. so hawdc0r3

Whoever did Snake Eyes' outfit should be fired. They put him in a sleek, form-sculpted black bodysuit... with a pair of slacks. That doesn't look right on any conceivable level.

I'm having trouble remembering which movie I'm looking at.  This is the new Resident Evil, right?  No, wait, it's Metal Gear Solid.  Okay.

Negative. A female on the cover won't sell unless she is a princess, or a robot (which allows the title placement rule to be negated).

There's couple, but I suppose they'd have to already be pretty sure sells. Broodwards and PDZ were sequels, and the original Perfect Dark was uh, well a little less brazen.

Good lady 4chan has been complaining about Storm Shadow, saying that he doesn't look like the original character at all. Personally, I think that he is the coolest looking one by far though, so they can all get fucked.

Snake Eyes looks laughably bad but what's really got me expecting the movie to be complete dog shit is the baroness' costume. No fucking glasses, no cobra symbol on her chest, no cobra symbols period, a glammed out belt buckle, and NO FUCKING GLASSES? Seriously? It's the sort of costume that screams "I probably won't even sound eastern-european when I talk because the actress we hired completely on looks couldn't be arsed."

Of course, the 4channers are claiming that this movie was basically made by hasbro to sell a new line of toys that they already designed the look of before any costumes were made or actors hired, but I digress. This will not be anywhere as cool as Transformers was, which is a shame.

Storm Shadow does look cool though, and he was always my favourite character other than Sgt. Slaughter, Baroness, Destro, and Snake Eyes.

Is it just me, or does Snake Eyes' mask have a mouth?

EDIT: It does! WHY THE HELL DOES A GUY WHO NEVER SPEAKS HAVE A MASK WITH A MOUTH :scanners:

I guess it explains how Batman Beyond's mask works.

I actually seem to recall that his mask has always had a visible mouth.

Yeah, but the size was variable and pretty clearly not flesh-toned at all.

Okay, yeah, I'm pretty much done with the whole "lol Tetsuya Nomura the entire Square-Enix corporation sure does draw a lot of effeminate guys and belts" thing.  It was Captain Obvious when people started pointing it out with Squall (the first onscreen character to have any damned visible sexual characteristics at all) but at this point you just have to admit that, yes, Final Fantasy is a game about faggy men with belts, the same way that Tomb Raider is a game about giant meat balloons.

I heard that Lara's huge tits were an accident, but the staff had a Beavis and Butthead moment thought it was so hilarious that they kept them that big until Angel of Darkness.

Personally, I don't understand the internet's hate boner for Nomura.  Yoshitaka Amano is infinitely worse with his albino anorexic blondes in gypsy clothing.

Akihiko Yoshida beats them both, however.

Amano was worse, but it always seemed like Square was just having him draw shit to boost sales and not really using his designs for anything.  "Uh huh, yes, this is a great drawing of a mopey blond.  (Psst we'll give this one green hair okay?)"

Strangely enough, the person known for drawing so many faggy men with belts in Final Fantasy games was not actually responsible for the faggy men with belts in FFXII.  He did, however, draw the faggy men in assless chaps in Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics.  Still, it's something new.

Actually, the male costume design for 12 isn't that horrendous.
Though, Vaan is taking notes from Aladdin.

I must confess I don't really remember, it's been so long. For Final Fantasy 1 out of 3 ain't bad! You could probably also bump it to 2/3, given that Vaan's outfit is obnoxious in a very different way than other characters generally are.
