The '9' is a bit too half-assed.

Anyway, we're sending these bad boys out this week to our friends from the press. Don't worry, we're thinking about offering a very limited quantity (200) on the Capcom Store

I heard that they can't for legal reasons, but I don't have anything to back that up.

...it's in the same post you just linked.

Anyway!  Still doable as a fan effort.  There are Mega Man hacks aplenty out there already; seems like it'd be feasible to clone MM9 as an NES ROM for a sufficiently dedicated hacker.  And there are guys who'll put ROMs on cartridges.  I own an English copy of FF3.

I don't know about the legal issues, but one possible reason they don't put it on a NES cart is that it's, you know... not a NES game.

Robots don't need to breathe!  Why does he look like that!

On that note: am I the only one who has a big pet peeve about undead and robot character models/sprites in games ALWAYS being given idle animations with their chest rising and falling with breath?

Sometimes it's particularly bad too.  I think it was Zero in MMZ that breathes like a fucking hummingbird while standing still.  Then again, those reploids are crazy shit.

But still, Forsaken in WoW?  Come ON.  They're ZOMBIES.

(note: this post is much better with my avatar if you read it really fast)

You know, as I was running cleanup on KateStory XIV today, I noticed that it contained quite a few jokes about Mega Man blinking and Zero bleeding.

Blinking's fine for a robot.  Gotta keep those optics clean and protected from overexposure.

B-but... Zero and X's eyes are that big camera bulb on their foreheads?

That just means the jewel is a camera.  It doesn't mean the eyes are not also cameras.

::(: Then why not mention that in the specs??
At any rate, it's reasonable to believe that X's eyes aren't just cosmetic, given that his predecessor certainly had a removable helmet. But X is never shown without his headgear, contrasting the original who takes it off at the drop of a helmet.

:slow: Did you see what I did there?
