According to Wikipedia, Opera has only 0.68%, Chrome 1.42 and Firefox 22.48%. The stats on my D&D blog (and presumably any internet-nerdy sort of site) are completely different.

Firefox holds the majority with 56.27%, almost all of which Firefox 3. Internet Explorer has 27.29%, which breaks down into 70% IE7, 20% IE6, and 10% IE8. Safari, Opera and Chrome are 4-6% each.

Doesn't Opera keep going back and forth between releasing versions that default to spoofing IE?

Supposedly they switched to identifying as Opera in 2005. That may not affect users who have used the browser since before then, since each new version installed keeps the old settings.

Presumably, Firefox is just plundering Opera's users.

I'm not noticing any real differences in 3.5. The icon pops a bit more, I suppose.

The speed increase is noticeable if your GPU happens to be fucked.  Otherwise I assume it doesn't make a bit of difference.

Apparently they've totally rewritten the JavaScript engine.  Should be noticeable on stuff like Google Apps.  According to benchmarks, it's still not as fast as Chrome but pretty damn fast.

You know what's kind of noticeable? There isn't a single worthwhile theme yet. I guess I'll have to wait until Full Flat updates if it ever does. Otherwise I may just have to downgrade back to Firefox 3.0.

Finally got around to sticking 3.5 on my W7 install, and it lags horribly.  3.5 on XP is fine, and 3.0 on W7 was fine, so

One of my favorite add-ons doesn't support 3.5, and the developer stopped working on it, and nobody seems to be picking it up. However, rumor has it it'll work fine if I force it to ignore the compatibility check... which I don't know how to do. To the Internet!

...I mean, elsewhere on the Internet.

Edit: Okay, it seems I might be able to accomplish this with Nightly Tester Tools. And it seems it works fine with that extension!

Too bad I really like the find as I type function too much to trade it for that. Pressing F3 to find is one step too far.

By default it just uses the numpad, so it doesn't interfere with any other functionality. Not to mention if the glyphs are hidden it won't use the keystrokes for navigation. You can set it to use characters from the full keyboard, like I did on my laptop, but there's no reason it has to conflict with any other feature.
