If you have an account on the Sporepedia, you can add someone else's account to your friend list, and I think the game will use that account's creatures more than ones from random accounts.  If you obtained the game through other channels, though, even telling it you have an EA account will be a bad idea.  In this case, you can fill up your Creatures folder with .pngs that you've downloaded from places like this, and they'll be distributed throughout your galaxy.

I wish there was some kind of way to tell where a black hole is going to send you.

Also, I found it amusing that I captured all the planets of an enemy empire.  They didn't surrender when only their homeworld was left, so I just gradually took it over in a series of raids.  I wonder what this means, exactly.  Are they homeless now, or simply dead?  They sure aren't bothering me anymore.

So apparently the Spore DRM prevents you from making new Spore accounts, which contradicts what it says in its own manual.

Heh, I found an epic in Space mode.  I foolishly decided not to stuff it in my tiny spaceship, as I didn't get any special message from simply scanning it.  In fact, I had scanned its species before.  Would've been hilarious to dump it in an enemy city, I bet.

You can't pick up epics, or even harm them really; But they will blow the SHIT out of your ship if you get too close.

I don't see the point in trying to log a second account in to the game.  I don't use an account at all, and there are seven save slots in the Galaxy view at startup.  If there are multiple people that use the same computer, but different Spore accounts that all make a bunch of creatures in the Creature Creator, won't they all be saved locally in the same Creatures folder to be used in the game proper?

Also, I haven't gotten far enough in the Space phase to see for myself, but can you get your ship advanced to the point where you can get far enough across the galaxy to arrive at the stars used in other save files and fuck with their civilizations?

So, in short, it's a badly made game with the ability to make your own art assets.
At least the tools are less cumbersome than in Drawn to Life.

A family might want to have different accounts so they can maintain their own friends list, etc.  Little Susie might want a field of friendly unicorns in her game, and little James might want a bunch of penis monsters.   With multiple accounts, Susie's unicorns might not be killing and consuming cocks, and James won't have to worry that unicorns invading his penis monster land would make him gay.

Well, I reached the center of the galaxy.

 :humpf:

I'd say the cutscene that happens is a pretty good metaphor for the game itself.

Like when they removed the every 10-day activation, they make a good PR move while keeping the existing system in place.

I'd like to see EA's definition of malware before I accept this claim.

Software specifically designed to harm your computer.

...although the software in question is specifically designed to restrict the functionality of an application you paid for, so that's not exactly letting them off the hook.

So I reached space with a second race.  Have yet to go to the center of the galaxy.  But I got there as a scientist instead of Shaman this time.  You get the doomsday weapon.  Scrub a planet clean of all cities.  IT doesn't tell you that this will piss off EVERY OTHER RACE for breaking 'Galactic Code'.  So now I'm doing nothing but fighting off hostile attacks because everybody is pissed that I'm slowly nuking the first offender back to the stone age.

So, nuke everybody back to the stone age.

Also, I wanted to set up a colony on a planet with pink spice, but there was a tribal creature either on that planet, or a planet in that system (it was a few days ago).  I bombed all the villages to smithereens, but it didn't make the planet "unclaimed," so the planet was still under their control even though I'd destroyed all their villages and seemingly killed all of the villagers.  That seems very counterintuitive to me.
