MSNBC/The New Yorker: it's time to cast off the stigma attached to Obama's middle name; it's part of the multicultural identity that makes him such an inspiring face for America.

As Tom Tomorrow noted in the first panel of his 6/10 strip, this is something that would have been unbelievable even five years ago.

President Barack Hussein Obama -- we can say that with pride.

I need Salon access to see the TT 6/10 strip?

WTF.

Wait a moment, and there should be a link that lets you continue at the top right.  Tricky, yeah.

Nope. The page had no links at all otehr than a registry box. It was hard to miss that on a totally blank white page.

Though now it's working. I'm confused... but whatever. I can see it now so I don't give a flying etc.

Odds of them not actually using that: Abooooooooout 100% now.  Unless they're trying to protect him from Vizzini.

Of course they're calling him "Kunio" in Japan...

According to another article, they're an artifact of a time before computer-hackery and shit made such codenames irrelevant.  Still, it's badass as fuck.

America's not ready for a black president.

Frankly, I'm not sure America's ready for a president at all.

50 Things You Might Not Know About President-Elect Obama.

... 40 of which contradict earlier gleaming of the cubes, or sound downright false.

Also, he reportedly has the same odd cravings as me.  Protein bars and berry-flavored teas.  Okay, yeah, we're yuppies, bite me.

I will personally start calling him O-Bomber if it at least means I never have to hear people put his name next to Osama and boggle as if it is either original or meaningful.

I call him Osama on accident a lot.  I also start to say his full name with Obama bin, then stop when I realize that Obama is his last name and I'm saying something entirely different.

This is why I don't participate in campaigns.
