If those are real, how come they didn't come out during the campaign?

I keep wondering the same thing re: why didn't this come out during the campaign, but they are real. He's reading dialogue from one of the books he wrote, because he did the audiobook himself.

...it's kind of tricky to smear someone with something that he's been totally out in the open with.  Maybe those clips could have done some damage taken out of context, but given how horribly all the other Republican smear tactics backfired, I kind of doubt it.

That said, given all the shit they DID sling at him, it DOES seem kinda odd that they didn't try.

Maybe the campaign ad strategists actually had some dignity.

That hellycopter that obama got in the other day.

That's not the new Obamacopter, FYI.

Hell, don't expect to see the new Obamacopter for another year or two.

Yeah, this was my thought.

Hey maybe the republicans were smart enough to realize that these would only increase his vote in certain sectors.

Vying for the Black vote is the 2012 strategy (see Steel, Michael).

You'll hear these clips in heavy rotation, accompanied by shocked expressions on the faces of newscasters, 42 months from now.

Concluded as such, since The System Wasn't Down.

He was a rock star up here.  People were shocked to see him in the Byward Market.

Nah, I just heard it second-hand from a friend who just came from there.

That, and I spend every other new years at Zaphod's.

Salon has an article up called Obama's timid liberalism which explores the left's recent flirtation with using market-based solutions and subsidies of the private sector to accomplish things that could be more efficiently handled by the government.  It's a thought-provoking read, and one which points out how most government projects these days are not in the interest of people, but in the interest of making companies more money.

Anybody notice any recent pictures of O-dawg when he's not smiling? No one's claiming he picked an easy job, but all the same, the man appears to be aging by the minute.
