I'm just worried that his hidden talents won't be revealed until his presidency is over.

Aren't wealth and/or family prestige things that are usually included in point-buy systems?  He could've loaded up on those, in theory.

...and assuming that life is based on point-buy RPGs.  That's the big one, right there.

Who doesn't make that mistake? I apparently stuck myself with a bunch of wilderness survival proficiencies, and they're doing me a fucking lot of good in San Francisco. I could have put more in the yell at shithead skill.

But hell, let's make up D&D stats for candidates. I'd do that, but I don't know what D&D stands for.

Only one stat is truly required.

Evade.

When I first viewed this image months ago, he had only one katana, and no eyepatch.

I'm half expecting a van load of Islamic pirates added into the background of the next revision.

Really? Because I saved that picture back in 2005. Weird.

Time to cut her open and count the rings inside then.

SUDDENLY: JAPAN!

Quote from: Google News
OBAMA, Japan (AFP) — Barack Obama... is enjoying a groundswell of enthusiasm in a small city in western Japan, which is delighted to share his name.

Obama, Japan, is rooting for candidate Obama, hoping that if he becomes the US president he will put this ancient fishing town of 32,000 people firmly on the tourist map and, just maybe, choose it for an international summit.

Supporters in Obama -- which means "small shore" in Japanese -- have held parties to watch election results, put up posters wishing the senator luck and plan a special batch of the town's "manju" sweets bearing his likeness.

This shit just got real.

Campaigns by the colors.

While visiting Barack's site, I had wondered to myself

If I highlight this icon, will it pop-up and glow?

And it did! Obama, indeed, has the glow. The influences of Roman symbolism that is now synonymous with DC iconography is even evident in the backgrounding:

Only the inclusion of a lion mauling a Christian family could improve such visual poetry. Serif and non-serif fonts matched? Thats true bipartisanship. There was a graphic there last week with the logo appearing like the morning star, and faceless white shadows rising up into its light. It was brutal.

McCain is winning the Republican nomination because he has the best graphics out of that field. They've even ripped off Obama's splash page. Sure, Trajan is the bullshit font (and matched with Humanas 521? Cheap fucks), but Romney's site was disgusting; true strength for America except in stylesheets.

The shaded military star works. Visible enough to be immediately recognizable as a sign of military strength and experience, but subtle enough that it doesn't scream HELLO I SUPPORT THE TROOPS AND A ROBUST INTERNATIONAL POLICY.

We're relatively smart, and free from typhoid, so we like to think that there's a political machine out there that knows what it's doing because the alternative is that competing groups of corrupt ideologues are running the show.

I prefer to look at the logos.

:oic: There's a Tyrannosaurus behind those olive leaves. Looks like Obama's going for the hardcore paleontology vote.

I have written a shocking expose regarding Obama's shocking plagiarism.  It is shocking.

I haven't been paying attention to the tard parade lately.  Please, God, tell me that this isn't something that the Fox News/AM Radio armchair fascists have actually been criticizing Obama for.

What, it's a surprise to you?

To be fair, it was a fairly dumb move, specially because it makes people wonder whether the rest of his rhetoric really came from him or was paraphrased from someone else.

I haven't been paying attention to that end, but there's a lot of it from the Clinton camp.  I saw it on the Huffington Post, which I increasingly hate myself for reading.  Taylor Marsh, for example, used to seem a lot less like a complete idiot.

To be fair, it was a fairly dumb move, specially because it makes people wonder whether the rest of his rhetoric really came from him or was paraphrased from someone else.

The first thing is that both Obama and Patrick have been forthcoming in the past about taking notes from one another.

The second is that it's a generic enough thing to say that I'm willing to buy the "I wasn't consciously lifting it from Patrick" excuse.  Take a half-dozen of the most famous turns of phrase in American history, slap "Just words?" on them...seems pretty damned straightforward.  (As I pointed out, you could just as easily accuse either one of them of ripping off Homer Simpson, but I don't think any reasonable person would do that; it's just an obvious thing to say.)

10 straight wins and counting:

HI 100%
Obama 76%
Clinton 24%

yes WI can 99%
Obama 58%
Clinton 41%

Results from Democrats Abroad (worth 7 whole delegates, oh boy!) will be available tomorrow.

Saturday night, some Hillmonger tried to play reverse psychology with me. I filled this out,

... Shoved it in their (?_?) face, and then mailed it off.

This state will likely be the one to end the streak, but we can still work to close the gap.

So there you have it — both men plagiarized their speeches, from an 18-year-old episode of The Simpsons.

This only proves that David Axelrod has ghost written for The Simpsons. :serious:

My wife says she considers a vote for Obama a bad thing for the country first, because she says, she doesn't agree with any of his takes on the issues (I've never pried but I think she's registered independent; at any rate, we're frequently on opposite sides of political thought, and just agree to disagree-- we seem to agree on the big stuff, and she's even more distrustful of those in charge right now than me, and *I* hope Dick Cheney gets raped by the sun).

The second part? She doesn't want to "waste a vote". She is absolutely convinced that should he win, some nut will kill him right before or soon after he takes office.

As taboo a subject as other political websites would have you believe, it all really comes down to his Vice Presidential pick.

So, you're saying an Obama/Richardson ticket.
