His argument was that if even Fox News was backing off it as crazy, there MUST be a coverup going on.

Now that's a level of crazy you don't usually get to have fun with.

I thought the WMDs were a little over halfway up...

And not to change the subject, but Birthers? C'mon guys, not only did you miss the chronologically inaccurate information, farcical signature, and Australian birth certificate form factor, but you missed this awesome bit about that official-looking embossed seal?

...discovered that Conspiracy Theory Guy at work is a birther.  Was not really surprised.

His argument was that if even Fox News was backing off it as crazy, there MUST be a coverup going on.

I managed to bite my tongue this time, because the last time I contradicted him he spent half an hour explaining how the WMD's were smuggled to Syria.

There was this thread on Free Republic recounting the (latest) REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE but even the freepers almost immediately began pointing out factual inaccuracies (wrong birth date etc.*) that undermined the credibility of the document.  The original poster apologized for mistakes in transcription, claiming they were the result of having been awake for 60 hours at that point.

The birther movement makes a lot more sense when one takes meth into account.

*which kind of begs the question of why they accept his birthdate as true if they think everything else is a conspiracy-driven fabrication but okay

...saw a cartoon somewhere where somebody looked at a Birther birth certificate and said "This birth certificate is written in crayon.  And it says 'President Obama'."  Think it was Doonesbury.  Can't find it now.

I don't think he hates his kids or anything, he's just sort of awkward about "proving" his affection to the public. Harper's never been a big gladhandle fellow, and he hates doing canned photo-ops (unless they involve him doing something with the military), so anytime he's done anything in public with his kids he winds up looking like an Aspergers twit.

I mean, it might eventually turn out that he IS an Asperger's twit, but I've heard enough from casual encounters to know that his relations with his kids aren't as cold as they seem on TV.

It has to do with Chicago possibly hosting the Olympics in 2016.

Also, while you might think it's funny to phososhop in Star Wars references, consider instead:
  • What is going in that guy's nose?
  • What is the woman next to Michelle holding?
  • What is that fat dopey kid making a dumb face at?
Basically this all around owns

:8D:

Is it just me or does Michelle Obama look pissed? "He said he'd never don the jedi robes again. God damnit!"

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/09/18/obama-race-not-overriding-issue-in-criticism/ by the way - why the hell does he do this? I know he thinks it makes him look like the better man, but it only empowers the racists running around at these tea parties when Obama mirrors their statement that the protests aren't about race...
