Okay yeah we might have to chalk this one up to "he wasn't all that fucked up from the waist down after all".

Many paraplegics can have sex. It's difficult and not a topic that gets discussed much, but far from impossible.

It would be fascinating to discover some aspect of the toxin that could have a beneficial effect. There are chemical compounds in venom that appear nowhere else, so I could easily believe that something like this could occur.

End of Civil Protection-style radio chatter?

Almost posted in WTF, but it actually makes a bit of sense.

Makes a lot of sense, really.

The codes were originally instituted to keep communications clear. Now, not only do they not serve that purpose any better than plain speech, they actually hinder communications.

... which is pretty much what the article says.

Fuck it, lets go play with China instead.

I mean for fuck sakes people?  Do you think that walling up your border and having constant border patrols and the best monitoring systems in the world made your southern border any more secure?  No.  It just made the criminals more badass between the badass semi-subs and ultralight gliders they use to smuggle.  Not only that, but that's all the more excuse to create markup on the streets.  Good markup means good weapons.

I would know.  There are gangs in Vancouver who have been throwing away after initial use better Assault Rifles (upper-end Steyr's) than I use professionaly.  If you don't believe me, ask the Mexicans, if you make it through an east-coast city without hearing a gunfight go on.

I really am getting more tempted by the day to go with a couple people and close the gates on the peace arch, just to reflect the acts of your DHS in a literal sense.

Quote
Earlier this week Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., told editors and reporters at USA Today that more than three months into office, the Obama team still had not managed to come up with any coherent strategy for restoring stability to the populous Muslim, nuclear-armed power.

"Pakistan is in a moment of peril," Kerry, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told the gathering. "And I believe there is not in place yet an adequate policy or plan to deal with it."

Kerry later backtracked to say he thought work on putting together the strategy was going ahead and that he and his Senate colleagues were cooperating on it.

:whoops:

Ah, nostalgia.

In fairness you guys are kind of screwed there.

While Pakistan needs a ton of help, the two countries best disposed and best positioned to helping them (India and the US) are two countries which the Pakistani man-on-the-street is certainly no fan of. Not that the average American or Indian has particularly warm feelings about Pakistan either.

The best case scenario may actually be to hope they solve it on their own (there is actually a non-negligable chance this will happen) and stay the hell away. Of course there should definitely be some strong contingency plans in case the government falls.

It's a difficult scenario.  You can't succeed in denying Al Qeada free roaming and propaganda victories in Afghanistan with doing the same in Pakistan.

The Strategic importance of what is going on right now in Pakistan cannot be understated.

Yielding the nukes to Neo-Taliban would be enough for India to desire to invade.  I wouldn't imagine NATO or Russia would get much rest either..

I for one could live very happily without ever knowing exactly what the results of a full-scale invasion by India would be.

I've never been killed by LuBu(or however it's spelled) from across the map in Battlefield.  And that mean's it's not Dynasty Warriors with guns; Being killed instantly on any level Loo-Boo is.
